ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

The Secret Garden Preschool was founded by Laurie Smith in June of 1998 in a small daylight basement in Montlake. In January of 1999, a more spacious location was found in the North Capitol Hill neighborhood which now serves our younger students in the Young Threes and Fours classes. In the fall of 2009, we opened a new location in Madison Valley serving our Pre-K students.

With our focus on social and emotional growth as well as community, The Secret Garden Preschool  offers many opportunities for our students to become good citizens as well as good students. Through hands-on learning, children are encouraged to explore and use their imaginations. The curriculum is rich with art, science, music, dance, literature, math and is balanced with opportunities to for child-directed play.

We offer half-day educational programs for children 2 ½ to 5 years of age.
